Full Time - Ongoing Subject to Funding

This position is based in Mildura.

As part of the Community Legal Service team, the Women’s Safety Program Senior Caseworker works to support victims of family violence by coordinating and promoting the Women’s Safety Program, funded by the Commonwealth Government. The position is co-located with a Community Legal Service Solicitor at the Mallee Sexual Assault Unit/Mallee Domestic Violence Service (MSAU/MDVS) in Mildura, with hot-desking arrangements and support provided at the Community Legal Service just a few blocks away. Travel to local courts and regional courts across the MMCLS catchment may be required as well as attendance at MSAU/MDVS outreach sites as needed, along with solicitors and support workers. 
 
The Senior Caseworker will work collaboratively with the Mildura and Swan Hill Sexual Assault and Domestic Violence services, as well as the Murray Mallee Community Legal Service, and may at times maintain a social work client case load to support victims in the holistic service model. The Senior Caseworker will be responsible for reporting on the funded program to the General Manager.

The successful applicant will be part of a new dynamic legal approach to supporting family violence victims in the Mallee in an integrated service delivery, wrap around legal service model, and will be required to work within two organisational structures with support - the MMCLS and the MSAU/MDVS. A degree in social work which provides eligibility for membership of AASW is required, with at least two years’ experience in working in the family violence field preferred. Program coordination experience and understanding of data systems are also required.
