Our Foster Care programs are also known as "Out of Home Care" and "Home Based Care".

The programs are a home based placement service which provide care to children and young people who cannot live with their families for a variety of reasons. The programs could include options of Therapeutic Care (VIC) and Kinship placements (NSW).

Foster Care can provide respite, short, medium and long-term care for children and young people on statutory orders and voluntary under Victorian and New South Wales laws. Referrals are primarily made by Child Protection services in Victoria and New South Wales.

Mallee Family Care caregivers are valued members of the team.  Caregivers undergo compulsory screening and training before being approved to have placements of children and young people into their homes. Placements are individually supported by Mallee Family Care staff, with ongoing training and various other placement supports, including an after hours oncall system.

If you are interested in becoming a foster carer please contact any of our offices for further information.
